Training Mailbag: Change Your Church Website Theme and Transfer Your Domain

We’re running a new training mailbag segment here on the Faithlife blog, in which we answer some questions about our products from readers. Whether your questions are answered below or not, we’d love to hear from you! Add a comment below with your questions, and we may answer them in an upcoming mailbag segment.

This week, we’re sharing some answers about using Faithlife Sites.

1. Can I change my Faithlife Site’s theme?

You certainly can! Faithlife Sites makes it easy to edit and redesign your church site with just a few clicks.

After signing into your site, enter Edit Mode by clicking Edit Site on the upper right. Then select the Design tab on the left and click Change theme. You can browse the available themes and preview them with a click. Once you’ve found the one you like, select it and click Publish changes on the upper right to make your changes public. 2. How do I transfer our domain to Faithlife?

With Faithlife Sites, you can use Faithlife to manage your domain records and perform troubleshooting when issues arise. So long as you have a Faithlife Sites Premium subscription and know your domain provider login information, you can transfer your domain to Faithlife.

Regardless of which service provider your site was hosted on before, you can follow these simple steps to transfer your domain:

  1. Disable WHOIS/domain privacy
  2. Ensure the admin email address is up to date
  3. Unlock the domain
  4. Get the transfer authorization (EPP) code
  5. Start your transfer in the settings tab
